Great Men, Great Works?
Esau - Aesop
Anyone see a similarity? Just a random passing thought, but they both would have existed somewhere around the same time. Whatever happened to Esau? I don't recall reading it in the bible, he just sort of dissapeared one day into the lacuna. I've stopped believing in coincidence. One day I'll have proof, that Esau upset with the lot he'd been dealt in life, moved on to Greece, and started composing fables.

You've hit on an intriguing idea here. It actually strikes me as a promising premise for a piece of young adults' literature.
But only one lacuna: Esau is descibed as being very simple and rather inarticulate. How would he metamorphisize(sp?)into a weaver of stories?
Well if the idea were to write a piece of young adults' literature, then it would be easy enough do devise a convincing means to establish his initiation as a story teller.
As it is though, I don't think such a conversion would be too difficult if these were the values that came to be important. He need only apply his dedication as a hunter in a different manner. In many cultures hunters grow to be elders/story tellers.
